At Gnome Surf Therapy, we don’t just teach surfing—we redefine what it means to thrive. As pioneers in the surf therapy movement, we’ve crafted a sanctuary where neurodivergent athletes are met with unwavering support, tailored guidance, and a deep respect for their unique journey. Here, the ocean isn’t just a playground; it’s a partner in healing, empowerment, and joy.

Neurodiversity-Centered: Designed by and for neurodivergent individuals, honoring sensory needs, communication styles, and pacing.
Community Over Competition: No leaderboards, no pressure—just a tribe that cheers for every ripple of progress.
The Ocean as Co-Teacher: Nature’s gentle power meets human compassion, fostering connection in ways words often can’t.
I spent years feeling like two people—the “too much” boy, loud and chaotic, and the “not enough” kid, hiding in silence. I wore masks to get by. Inside, I was drowning: undiagnosed ADHD, childhood trauma, a mind that never rested.
Then, I met the ocean.
I remember the first time a wave carried me. The cold shock of water, the taste of salt, my heart pounding not from fear, but aliveness. On that board, my scattered thoughts finally stilled. The noise in my head was washed clean. For the first time, I felt my body and my mind in the same place. I belonged—not because I changed, but because I was finally seen, just as I was. That moment didn’t just save me. It showed me my purpose.
At Gnome Surf, we don’t see disabilities or differences. We see courage. I watch a child with autism laugh as they catch their first wave. I see a teen with cerebral palsy paddle out with fierce determination. I hold the hands of parents who, for the first time, see their child celebrated, not just accommodated.
This is deeply personal to me. Because love isn’t a feeling—it’s an action. It’s building a space where a kid who’s been told they’re “less than” feels like a warrior. Where a neurotypical teen learns that true strength is in lifting others up. I founded Gnome Surf because healing found me in the sea. Now, it’s my life’s work to pass that on.
This is my invitation to you. If you’ve ever felt broken, or if you simply believe in a kinder world—come join our family. Paddle out with us.
The ocean welcomed me home. Let me welcome you.

Every individual is extraordinary, and so is our care. We specialize in one-to-one sessions, often with multiple instructors per athlete, ensuring every moment is attuned to their needs, abilities, and comfort. There’s no script here—only patience, adaptability, and a commitment to meeting each person exactly where they are. Whether it’s building trust with the water, celebrating small victories, or navigating challenges, we create a safe space where respect and connection are non-negotiable.
