Fill Your Cup, So You Can Pour Into Others Designed For Anyone Who Gives Their All
At Gnome Surf Therapy, we know caretakers rarely pause to care for themselves. That’s why we created the Salty Tribe (women’s space) and Rad Dads (men’s crew)—two communities where adults reconnect with their strength, joy, and each other. No kids, no pressure, no surf experience needed. Just real people, real talk, and real waves.
I have so much love for Gnome— it’s hard to specify the best part about it! Gnome Surf has given me the safe space to get out of my head when my depression gets really loud. On a spiritual level, Gnome’s subliminally guided me to have a deepened connection with the ocean. The women who lead Salty Moms are absolute powerhouses. Even though I can’t get to many sessions, each time I go, I feel lighter and more at peace. I bought a hot pink foamie two summer ago & have made surfing my lil waves a core part of my summer and fall. I don’t care if I pop up, but when I do— man, I’m on top of the world! Hearing the salty mom girls cheer for each other is a beautiful moment. On a second level, I am a teacher of students with various abilities and superpowers and seeing the work Gnome does to be inclusive… It’s a reminder that the world is, in fact, a good place to be. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the space you’ve created.
No Surf Skills Required: Beginners and pros learn side-by-side—because growth thrives in community.
For All Caretakers: Biological parents, chosen family, or someone who’s just “always the rock.” in our community.
Guilt-Free Self-Care: By healing yourself, you show up stronger for those who need you.
A sanctuary led by women, for women. Surf alongside sisters, then unwind with sound baths, breathwork, and unfiltered conversations. This isn’t about perfection—it’s about permission to prioritize you.
We offer two unique formats designed to fit your flow:
Each gathering may include a combination of:
You bring your open heart — we bring the boards and the good energy.

No forced vulnerability, just camaraderie. Swap stories in the lineup, challenge each other on waves, and build brotherhood through shared stoke. Think less “therapy,” more “chill crew with purpose.”

Join the Salty Tribe, Rad Dads, or our seasonal wellness series. All you need is an open heart—we’ll handle the rest.
Salty Tribe is a surf-wellness community rooted in connection, healing, and empowerment led by women and for women and feminine-energies. We use surfing as a form of therapy — but it’s so much more than just learning to ride waves. Through yoga, sound healing, meditation, and shared moments in nature, we create space for you to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and honor the person you are beneath all that you give to others.
Salty Tribe welcomes all women and all feminine energies — of every age, background, and ability level. No surf experience is required. Whether you are a mother, caretaker, student, professional, or simply in need of connection and peace, this community is for you. We are an inclusive, judgment-free space where everyone is celebrated exactly as they are.
Sessions are held at Horseneck Beach, Massachusetts, and other South Coast shoreline spots depending on surf and weather conditions. Each location is chosen for safety, beauty, and its ability to connect us with the healing rhythm of the ocean.
Not at all! Salty Tribe and Rad Dads is open to all levels — from total beginners to experienced surfers. Our instructors meet you exactly where you are. You’ll receive gentle, encouraging guidance as you grow your confidence in and out of the water.
Surfing teaches presence — every wave requires you to let go, trust, and move with nature. Combined with mindful practices like yoga and sound healing, it becomes a form of ocean-based therapy that helps reduce stress, build confidence, and connect body, mind, and spirit.

Salty Tribe and Rad Dad’s isn’t a surf school — it’s a community for the soul. It’s about self-care, connection, and transformation through the elements. Many of our participants say it’s where they rediscovered their voice, strength, and joy — and built lifelong friendships along the way.
Yes. Safety is always our top priority. All sessions are supervised by experienced surf-therapy instructors, and the beaches we use are known for their gentle, beginner-friendly conditions. Our approach is trauma-informed, mindful, and heart-centered.
That’s completely welcome. You can participate as much or as little as feels right —at Salty Tribe some come mainly for yoga, meditation, or sound healing, others for surfing or simply to be in community by the sea. Every way of showing up is honored.
